My husband asked if I was ever going to do more than three cherries.

I think three cherries are just right. don't you?

I've gone back to starting with negative painting with a larger brush. I blocked in the shadows first.

This puts a small painting in the 'struggle' zone immediately. Actually, this piece never left that zone!

This piece is 6" x 6" and is painted on gesso board. 

My absolute favorite fruit. Not only does it taste wonderful but it is so beautiful. 

When ripe the Black Cherrys' color is so deep and rich.
